Elkettes Advance in District Tournament; Play St. Michael’s Tonight

The Elkettes used a full-court press against Sandia Prep to force multiple turnovers in the first round of the District 5AAA Tournament Monday night and defeated Sandia Prep 59-44 to advance to tonight’s second round game against St. Michael’s at 7 p.m. in Santa Fe.

Pojoaque exploded for 20 second half points to take a 28-17 halftime lead and they led the rest of the game.

Cheyenne Law, getting better every game, led the Elkettes with 21 points, while Amber Roybal and Cheyenne Cordova contributed 12 and 11 points respectively.

Audrey Allen scored 21 for Sandia Prep.
