Volleyball: Elkettes bounce Lady Jags
Kira Trujillo strong armed 16 kills combined with four blocks to lead the PHS volleyball team to a 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 25-13 win over Capital High Thursday night at Capital.
Head coach Brian Ainsworth said there were lots of inconsistencies, but that was to be expected in the first game of the season.
Two starters, Dionna Montoya and Cara Salazar were out of action. “We had to play five kids who have very little varsity experience,” Ainsworth said. “Our lack of experience showed in the second game, which we lost 23-25.”
Liz Gomez and and Marissa Romero each had 10 kills.
