On Monday night, KRQE reported a bullying incident at the Pojoaque Valley Sixth Grade Academy. According to their story, Roberta Lujan’s 12-year-old son Margarito was accosted by two fellow students back in October.

Lujan said her son had orange juice poured into his back pack and the bullies wrote on her son’s body with magic markers.

Lujan has filed a police report with the Santa Fe County’s Sheriff’s Department because she alleges the school failed to do anything about the incident.

According to Adan Delgado, PVSD superintendent, the district has investigated the case but he didn’t indicate whether or not the students involved have been disciplined.

I have had three children through the Pojoaque Schools, I even graduated from Pojoaque. While I am pleased with the education both my children and I received, sadly the staff from Elementary to High School are worthless when it comes to helping students as far as bullying or disciplining students who bully others. When parents ask questions or inquire, phone calls are NEVER returned and the staff “blows off” requests for information or they simply get defensive and ignore you. I hope something is done soon before students start getting seriously hurt or hurt themselves.

Take solice in the fact that it took 2 boys to harm him. One coward could not do it.

You might want to talk to your school board representative about the school’s poor communication skills.

The way the school has always handled bullying is a joke. My grandaughter has been having problems for two years now and police reports have even been made. Today she was jumped by one of the girls that were bullying her. The person “in charge” sat in the office and lied to the whole family and said he wasn’t aware of the problem. Its kinda funny because he assured my daughter before that to harm would come to my granddaughter. My kids also went through the schools in Pojoaque. I had to pull my youngest out of school in the 10th grade. Not only because of bullying from some students but by some of the teacher and school employees. Why are the Pojoaque valley schools pretending their is not a problem? Not only is my daughter and son-in-law pressing charges but they are going to the news with this. Also looking for a good lawyer. Way to go Roberta Lujan!! If there is anything we can do to help your case please let us know!
