SFIS Defeats St. Michael’s, Jumps to the Top of District 2AAA

A little surprise, maybe not, but Santa Fe Indian School now owns a 3-0 District 2AAA record with their Wednesday night 64-57 win over St. Michael’s, who might be sounding a little panic button with a 1-2 district record.

Pojoaque (13-6,2-1) overwhelmed West Las Vegas 62-46. The Elks are back in rhythm with. For the second straight game, four players were in double figures. Luke Salazar slashed for 18 points, Brian Montoya scored 12, Chris Ortiz 11 and Christian Baca 10.

Jordan Lopez paced West with 15 points.

Pojoaque led throughout the game. The Dons rallied to within three points in the third quarter but Pojoaque fought off the run and maintained a double digit lead in the fourth quarter.

Robertson, with a 85-65 win over Raton, is locked up with Pojoaque Valley in a 2-1 second place tie.
