Members of the Border Network for Human Rights and other Southern New Mexico residents are preparing for a Day of Action and Integration in Santa Fe to support the current driver’s license law and tell lawmakers that they must not compromise communities.

“When fewer than 3% of license applications are suspicious, that’s proof that Gov. Martinez is exaggerating license fraud for political gain,” said Cristina Parker, BNHR Media Coordinator. “We reject any change at all to the current law and the governor’s shameful comparison of immigrant families to terrorists.”

The Day of Action will include a 9 a.m. press conference followed by rounds of visits with lawmakers.
