What was your first job and starting salary?

Teresa Cordero: ‘I got my first job in 1984 in Deluth, Minnesota, working for as a hostess for a Perkins Family Restaurant at minium wage, which was $4.85 an hour.’

Teresa is a waitress at the Roadrunner Cafe.

Frutoso Herrera: “My first job, lets see, in 1967 I was a book-keeper at the Arrow Gas Company. I made $125.00 a week.”

Frutosa now works in security.

Paula Trujillo: “I’m trying to remember the year. Yes, it was 1980, I made $4.25 an hour as a bus person at Rancho de Chimayo.”

Paula works at the Roadrunner Cafe as a waitress.
