District 5AAA Girls’ Tournament Starts Tonight
This is the time of year when high school basketball teams dream of State Championships, a quest that only a few will complete.
Tonight, the Elkettes begin their long journey to the crown when they face off against Sandia Prep at 7 p.m. in Ben Lujan Gymnasium in the opening round of the District 5AAA Tournament. If the Elkettes prevail, they’ll play St. Michaels in Santa Fe at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Elks first round opponent is Santa Fe Indian School, Tuesday, 7 p.m. in Ben Lujan Gymnasium. The winner of that game will play Sandia Prep in Albuquerque, 7 p.m.,Wednesday.
