Elks Squeak By Cardinals
The Elks rebounded from a heart breaking loss to St. Michael’s with a 64-63 District 2AAA victory over Las Vegas Robertson Saturday night in Ben Lujan Gymnasium.
Knotted at 63 with 13 seconds to play, Christ Ortiz stepped to the stripe, sank two and Pojoaque (14-7, 4-2) hung on for the win that has them in a second place district tie with St. Michael’s
Luke Salazar led Pojoaque with 18 points and Brian Montoya contributed 15, while Christian Baca and Ortiz scored 10 each.
Justin Bustos scored 17 for Robertson.
